Following on from the celebrated success of COPD8, we are delighted to launch the new website for the COPD9 International Conference on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
COPD9 is an International Conference aimed at the breadth of the COPD spectrum from basic science through to clinical practice and what people living with the condition need and want. COPD9 will provide new and interesting information for all delegates and encourage lively debate and discussion. Follow COPD9 on Twitter for all the latest information.
Providing high quality evidence based health care for the 21st century, presents particular challenges wherever we are based in the world, and in the UK there are many national policies and initiatives which will ensure that COPD is both recognised and embedded in future healthcare strategies.
The conference will provide:-
• An accredited education and training conference in COPD
• A state of the art scientific conference in COPD
• Clearly identified tracks for scientists, clinicians, nurses, physiotherapists, clinical physiologists,
and other health care professionals interested in COPD in both primary and secondary care
• An opportunity to present original research and to discuss findings with other international
experts in the field
• The production of a conference specific publication
• New and interesting information for all delegates and encourage lively debate and discussion
As always events such as this cannot take place without a supportive dedicated team and we express our grateful thanks to the Scientific Advisory Committee, Anita Pye and to Executive Business Support Ltd. We remain as ever indebted to the generous support of our sponsors and particularly our major sponsors.
COPD Conferences have always been committed to recognising those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in the field of COPD. In 2006 the first ‘Lifetime Achievement Awards’ were presented in conjunction with Boehringer Ingelheim. The tradition has been continued with 2 or 3 awards made by COPD Conferences at each subsequent biennial conference. Following the awards in 2010 it was decided that a COPD Hall of Fame should be established to which all past, and future, awardees will be admitted. Awards for 2014 will be announced at COPD8.
