COPD10 will mark the tenth biennial COPD Conference which will once again be held at the International Convention Centre Birmingham, UK.
COPD9 in June 2014 attracted a record number of delegates with 675 attending from 35 different countries, spanning a wide range of disciplines. COPD10 aims to continue to attract attendance from increasing numbers of delegates and key international opinion leaders. This conference will also be looking to the future and aims to introduce emerging leaders and young investigators from research, clinical practice and allied healthcare disciplines. Feedback received from individuals working in both industrial and healthcare settings supports the fact that the meeting provides an ideal opportunity to meet and discuss ongoing work and exchange ideas.
Many of you will have attended previous conferences and for those of you who are considering attendance for the first time, we are confident that by working with our conference organisers you will find an opportunity suitable for your specific requirements.
We have received extremely positive feedback from major sponsors and exhibitors and by means of ongoing communication we hope to continue addressing the important issues concerning future COPD care and research.
The scientific programme will incorporate a mixture of interactive plenary sessions and simultaneous sessions divided into clinical science, basic science and care delivery tracks to provide something of interest to all staff working in the field of COPD. Insights from the Expert sessions are always very popular with delegates as they provide a more informal opportunity to discuss specific issues with key opinion leaders and these will again feature at COPD10. Major sponsors will once again have the opportunity to formulate specific non-promotional sessions for inclusion in the programme.
Our speakers, chairpersons and the members of the scientific advisory committee always give their time willingly and we are indebted to them for their invaluable input and continued support. We are of course particularly grateful to our sponsors, as without your financial support the conference would not be possible.
We look forward to meeting you in Birmingham in June 2016 and thank you for being part of this important COPD event.
